12.0 Vendor Guidelines and Principles
Below are a summary of guidelines and principles which ought to be embedded in all the supply chain processes and procedures issued within the ASYAD group.
12.1 Vendor Partnership
Working in partnerships will be critical to ensure that value and efficiencies occur across the group. However ASYAD’s supplier base will meet the core international ethical standards set. The standards are based upon ISO 20400 sustainable procurement and CIPs -global standard for procurement and supply;
12.2 Child Labor
Across the ASYAD supply chain, there shall be no recruitment of child labor, children and young persons under 18 shall not be employed at night or in hazardous conditions. The policies and procedures shall conform to the provisions of the relevant international labor organization (ILO) standards. There shall be no harsh or inhumane treatment, or physical abuse, the threat of physical abuse, sexual or other harassment and verbal abuse or other forms of intimidation shall be prohibited.
12.3 Equality & Diversity
ASYAD recognizes that by promoting the principles of equality and diversity, it will ensure that the skills and resources of employees are utilized in full, which broadly reflects the local communities in which we operate, and by creating a working environment that combats prejudice, stereotyping, harassment and promotes dignity and respect for all individuals. ASYAD’s group of companies understand the importance of ensuring that these principles are applied to the way the group engages and works with suppliers, and this behavior is extended through its supply chain. ASYAD will set the expectation in the way in which suppliers shall behave and the way in which the group shall engage suppliers.
12.4 Health & Safety
ASYAD expects its suppliers to strive to implement the standards of occupational health and safety at a high level by applying a health and safety management approach appropriate for the business. The supplier shall ensure that it provides a work environment that is safe and conducive to good health, in order to preserve the health of employees, safeguard third parties and prevent accidents, injuries and work-related illnesses. This includes regular workplace risk assessments and the implementation of adequate hazard control and precautionary measures. Employees are to be adequately educated and trained in health and safety issues.
12.5 Data Protection and Disclosure of Information
All ASYAD suppliers shall adhere to relevant data protection and security laws as well as to respective regulations, with regards to personal data of customers, consumers, employees and shareholders. The supplier shall comply with all said requirements when personal data is collected, processed, transmitted or used. Suppliers shall safeguard and make only appropriate use of confidential information. The supplier shall not disclose any information that is not known to the general public.
12.6 Bribery and Corruption
All ASYAD suppliers shall comply with all national and international anti-bribery regulations as well as applicable anti-corruption laws, regulations and standards. The supplier shall not (either directly or indirectly) offer or promise to provide anything of value to improperly influence an official act or to secure an improper advantage in-order to obtain or retain business.
12.7 Trade Regulation
ASYAD suppliers shall comply with all applicable trade and import regulations including sanctions and embargoes that apply to their activities.
12.8 Money Laundering & Financial Records
ASYAD suppliers shall comply with applicable laws and regulations designed to combat money laundering activities. ASYAD suppliers shall maintain financial records and reports according to international and national laws and regulations.
12.9 Fair Competition
ASYAD suppliers shall comply with applicable competition and anti-trust laws.
12.10 Conflicts of Interest
A conflict of interest arises when an individual has a private/personal interest which could appear to influence their decisions. Such conflict of interest situations includes a relationship by blood or marriage, partnership, business partnership or investment. ASYAD suppliers shall disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest with ASYAD Group personnel.
